to be a community care worker. I would enter clients homes and help them with tasks, such as medication administration, personal care and daily domestic tasks. Some of the client I worked with had dementia and learning disabilities. Before going into the community I had to undergo three days training, covering topics such as fire safety, awareness of different types of abuse, knowledge of the role, understanding of dementia and effective training of equipment e.g hoists, slide sheets, banana boards etc. My responsibilities within this role were endless, caring for the elderly in their own homes whilst keeping them safe and always being alert to recognise safeguarding risks.
