I have been working for my present employer for the past year as his housekeeper. He has carers who come in daily to attend to his personal care and I work for him 3 days per week. He was finding his day to day living arrangements too much to cope with as he also has declining health care problems. His living situation had become overwhelming due to having lost his wife several years ago and he had become unable to maintain previous house-care standards. This was having a negative impact on his emotional health. Since I have been working for him, he has been able to take control of his life again and has also greatly improved health-wise. I love doing this type of work and can see the clear benefit to my employer. Because of my input, he is now more than able to continue living independently which is wonderful to witness. I am very clear that this is the type of work that I intend to pursue and look forward to finding more work in this area.
