I have excellent communication skills working with the elderly. I enjoy their company, hearing their stories and love being able to make their days trouble free. Helping with personal care, shopping, cooking meals, conversation and companionship. I miss my parents, aunts and uncles and know all the old films, songs and love walking down memory lane. Its heart warming to see them smile in remembrance. I’ve specialised in dementia care over the years, working in a day centre as well as day and evening private care. I have also specialised with PSP clients and am competent with the elderly and the frail. I’ve had fantastic results with clients on their memory reviews. Encouraging them to get into colouring patterns; which helps with pen control, colour appreciation and Is ultimately rewarding and relaxing. I am also a fully qualified Holistic therapist and often help relieving aching legs, restless leg syndrome, stiff shoulders and necks. I am presently studying ‘end of life care’ so that I can hold their hands right upto their final moment, assuring continuity of care and support.
