I have been a carer for 17 years now, for my ex who had a stroke, I had varied duties in this role, help with his general hygiene needs, food, shopping, all round care. I have also been caring for my parents, my dad passed last year sadly and my mum is 91. I feel a good carer is someone who is able to do her job, but has understanding in how the elderly feel, its helping them keep their dignity and independence.
