Although I have not worked with the elderly before, I have worked with children for many years , so I am not new to tidying/cleaning/cooking and generally picking up after someone and looking after them. I am a very tidy person who finds it easy to tidy and clean as I go, therefore I thrive in an atmosphere that reflects this. I enjoy spending time outside, going for walks or sitting outside with a tea while enjoying the beautiful nature around us. My nan who is 85, is one of my best friends and unfortunately has dementia, I see her as often as possible as I love to spend time with her cherishing it while I can. I visit her in the home she lives in and often end up chatting to her friends while in the communal lounge. I really enjoy seeing the elderly people in her home as they seem to always have a story to tell me from their childhood or travel story from 40+ years ago, I know that I enjoy their company and can see that they also appreciate my company and enthusiasm when listening to their stories.
