I have worked in care for 15 years, both in care homes and also in people's own homes. I was a live in carer for six years and most recently I worked as a care manager for a domiciliary and live in care company for the last 3 years and studied for my Level 5 in Health & Social Care, which I've just recently completed. I am a empathetic and compassionate person and I enjoy caring for people because I like to make a difference in their lives by ensuring that they always receive care that is person-centred and tailored to their individual needs. I always make sure that anybody that I am providing care for is treated with dignity and respect. Having been a carer for several years, I am familiar with many health conditions and I'm also competent in all aspects of care from personal care to catheter and continence care including stoma care, supporting with medications, hoisting, use of stand aids and/or other moving and handling equipment. I'm very flexible and adaptable in my approach as I like to ensure that my clients feel comfortable and that they are receiving care in the way the best supports their needs.
