I am an experienced carer, and have worked in a supported housing scheme, assisting older people to live independently. My duties there were varied and included cleaning, laundry, shopping, meal preparation and personal care. I also have experience of working with older people in the community suffering from dementia. I feel that these roles have helped me to build solid relationships with both clients and their families I am patient, compassionate and friendly and have an understanding of many of the issues and difficulties older people can face. I am a good listener and hard worker and feel that I have the practical skills and enthusiasm to help to support clients to maintain their independence in their own homes.
