I have been working as a healthcare support worker on a surgical ward for the past 2 years. Across those two years I have gained an NVQ level 2 in healthcare though an apprenticeship where I experienced many areas of healthcare and have developed a valuable insight into many different kinds of care including end of life, dementia care, palliative care and general care of the elderly. I have done further learning in areas such as: epilepsy, diabetes, learning disabilities, autism awareness and first aid. I have also gained the NHS care certificate and have completed an advanced DBS check. I am able to offer live in services as well as live out with regular visits whether this be on an adhoc or regular basis. I am able to run errands and complete any day to day activities with/for the individual under may care. My aim as a support worker is to listen to and understand every individual and to be able to fulfill their needs in a way that suits them. I want everyone under my care to feel appreciated and valued.
