I have experience in caring for my father as well as working in a residential home and domiciliary care. My father has suffered a stroke which left him paralysed to the right side. The stroke has limited his mobility and his ability to get on with his day to day activities. I assist and support him by encouraging him to have a go, with showering and dressing as well as ensuring he is comfortable and not in pain. Working in a residential home has taught me how to provide care to the best of my abilities as it is different caring for your father and a resident. Each resident had their own needs so I had to have a knowledge of their care plan as well as communicating with them to find out whether anything has changed. Domicilary care has taught me how to ensure the client was comfortable and happy at all times as it was their environment.
