I started my career in care 7 years after losing my grandad to a stroke. During this time i worked as a manger in retail and cared for people alongside this. Earlier this year I made the decision to go into care fulltime as it has become a passion of mine. Over the years I have worked in various care capacities such as; domiciliary care, Nursing homes, residential homes, live in care, sleep ins and waking nights. My duties involved; personal care, Catheter/stoma care, Manual handling, administering medication, Meal preparation, shopping trips, companionships. My clients have varied from; having dementia, Mental health, Elderly, young, spinal injuries, respiratory issues, peg fed and dependent on moving aids such as hoists and rotundas. I have recently completed my care certificate and currently doing my NVQ LEVEL 3. I have various online and practical training certificates that I have acquired over the years from my employer.
