As a health care assistant with less than a year experience, I have provided personal care and support to elderly people in their own homes. I am passionate about helping them to maintain their dignity, independence, and quality of life. My previous role involved assisting my mother with various tasks such as bathing, dressing, feeding, medication, and mobility. I also offered emotional support and companionship by listening to her concerns, engaging in conversation, and participating in her hobbies and interests. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in health care support for the elderly, as I believe they deserve adequate care and gentle minds to be happy and comfortable in their old age. I have also educated myself on topics such as infection control, safeguarding, dementia care, and manual handling by reading books and journals.
