I have a Level 3 National extended Diploma in Health and Social care. I have worked in a care home caring for people with a wide range of disabilities and illnesses including palliative care and dementia, I provided all care including personal care, assistance with nutrition, mobility, social interaction, toileting and providing reassurance. I was the activity co-odinator and provided a wide range of activities for the residents including 1:1 walks, armchair aerobics and arts and crafts. I have completed an administration of medication in house course within the care home and I am able to administer prescribed medications within the care home. I have looked after a lady in her own home with dementia, I supported her with nutritional needs, reassurance when anxious and helping her to remain independent in her own home.
