I currently work in a private nursery, within the baby room (age 6 months – 2 years), and I am working as room leader to cover maternity leave. My responsibilities include overseeing day to day running of the baby room, ensuring the best care is given to all the children and managing weekly planning and all paperwork of the room. I also follow the Early Years curriculum and I observe my key children and I am also in charge of assigning a key person to each new baby that we receive at the nursery. Before taking on the maternity cover position of Room Leader, I was a nursery practitioner in the same room. I have also had 2 previous live in nanny positions and 1 was for a 14 month duration and it was amazing!
