Over the years, I have gained various experiences from teaching, to tutoring, to babysitting. This summer I worked for 10 months as a nanny (ages ranging 2-4) and as a camp counsellor (ages ranging 6-12) in Seattle, America. I attended a staff training and learnt about positive behaviour management techniques, childhood development and resolving childhood separation anxiety. I am also an active volunteer, and my experiences include working with vulnerable individuals, mainly children and people with disabilities. In one volunteering society I was part of, I used to go to a day care centre to look after children ranging 5-19 with different disabilities. I supported and encouraged them to participate in various activities including crafts and indoor games. In another society, I used to go on day trips where I was paired up with one child with special needs. I ensure that they are safe and free from harm, while also having a good time. I also taught English to a 2-year-old and to children ranging 5-13 at a recreational-education lab, which entailed teaching them while incorporating different activities. I genuinely love spending time with children and I learn just as much from them as they do from me.
