I believe that my nursery experience, passion for child development and work ethic are an exclusive combination ideal for a baby sitter
As an Oxford biomedical science graduate, I would bring a unique approach to a role which would also allow me to use my break from academia to fulfil my passion for child development. Having volunteered in a nursery for around two months in 2017, I am already familiar with the childcare and the approaches to different age groups.
Success as a baby sitter requires flexibility to adapt activities. Such interpersonal skills are already incorporated into my ongoing work as a tutor where I interpret a student’s understanding and tailor lessons.
During my degree, I worked with the Oxford Companions homeless support. The experience was sad but also enlightening, fuelling my ambition to work with the vulnerable and go beyond the minimum to provide the best service.
Childcare can be busy. Resilience under pressure is illustrated by my academic achievements and laboratory work. I also served as Vice President of the Oxford Student’s Disability Campaign. Here, I had to cater for a range of accessibility needs so I am accustomed to respecting private information, important when working with children.
