I have worked as a child carer since the age of 16. I have just over 20 years of care experience in various settings. I was employed by social services after completing my A levels and worked at a family center in Portsmouth supporting families and children from newborn to eight years. I have also worked in a nursery and for a trial period at a maternity hospital. However, most of my care experience has been as a sole charge nanny for children from newborn to teenage. I have no formal qualifications in childcare, however, I have completed short courses in child psychology, behavioral management, and phonics. I enjoy building close relationships with the children in my care and enjoy working as part of a family. I am a nurturer and carer and I find that this brings so many rewards. I enjoy watching the children develop and reach their milestones. I enjoy teaching them, ensuring that they have a fun childhood with many positive experiences. I also believe in setting boundaries and ensuring there is a correct level of discipline whilst at the same time ensuring the children feel safe, cared for and loved. I am a very sociable person and I enjoy managing my time and arranging activities and outings.
