Hello! My name is Ruth and I am currently a student at the University of Aberdeen. Having babysat for various family friends over the years, I have extensive experience in caring for children of a wide range of ages, from new-born to 11 years. I have also volunteered as a children's leader at Church Kids' clubs, caring for children between 0-4 years. This role includes leading games and activities, playing with the children, feeding and changing nappies. I have also worked with children with a range of Special Educational and Physical Needs, including autism and down syndrome, assessing their individual needs and working with parents to ensure that they are welcomed and able to participate in the fun. Through this I have been able to develop my use of Makaton and British sign language. I am passionate about helping children learn and develop their motor and sensory skills through play, crafts and singing.
