As the oldest daughter of three I have spent a considerable amount of my life providing care for my younger siblings as we grew up and, by extension, throughout my teenage years to young adulthood, the friends of my siblings and children in my neighbourhood at home. I adore babysitting/caring for young kids as I love to tap into the imaginative element that comes with it; I'm creative as well as responsible so find that working together to build a beautiful world through imagination really inspires me as well as them. In addition, I spent the last year living and studying in New York City where I babysat/cared for a toddler, and was able to conduct myself independently to find this work and bonded throughout the year with him and his mum and found the experience incredibly rewarding! Although I don't have my own means of transport, we took the subway to school in the mornings and I cooked and cleaned up after all our activities throughout the day.
