Hi! My name's Nikki and I am a qualified teacher. Upon leaving University in 2021, I worked in a nursery for 4 months with children between the ages of 18 months- 4 years. I was responsible for changing nappies/helping potty train, preparing snacks, serving dinner, cleaning and preparing activities and provision for the children. I then decided to become a supply teacher to gain more experience in schools. It was through this that I was paired with a school who I settled with. I would work in all classes ranging from ages 4-11, often in different years throughout the day. This required me to teach lessons on short notice, mark work and enforce behavior management. The school also had a nursery where I spent a lot of time with children aged 2-4. This was similar to my last nursery job requiring similar responsibilities, however I would also introduce writing, maths and problem solving to the aged 3-4 children; preparing them for school. I love interacting with children through play and using their interests as a way to teach them about the world and help them develop.
