I am currently studying a Masters in nursing and have a flexible working hours. I am able to relate and communicate easily with all ages and am passionate about improving the lives of people living with challenging health conditions. From 2018 to 2020 I was employed as a care worker and playworker in two different roles. One role was providing care to a child in her home with cerebral palsy and severe learning disability, the other was within an after-school scheme for groups of children with disabilities. These roles involved providing physical care including assisting feeding, washing, dressing, toileting and mobility as well as emotional and psychological care. During my undergraduate university programme I spent six weeks working as a course administrator and houseparent at a residential sports and language camp for children aged 11-18. I realised how important it is to be continually friendly, resourceful and patient. This role required efficient personal organisation, good time management and teamwork. I was able to maintain my commitment and motivation through long shifts, six days a week. This required a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
