I currently work as a special needs career and play worker for children with severe physical and multiple learning disabilities, I have a vast range of responsibilities as a career but I like to focus on including the wants of the parents (normally educational based) with the wants of the children (keeping it fun and energetic), I have worked at the play scheme charity for 2 years, and through this have gained a job as a private career for one of the children that attended the play scheme, where I now look after him and his two younger brothers. My responsibilities as their career is to pick them up from school, take them home and play until dinner time where I then provide personal care for each child and then put them to bed. I have managed to gain a routine with the children which has helped a lot with their emotional needs. I’m currently looking for this job as I am leaving for university to study child nursing next year and need to earn some money whilst gaining experience.
