I am a recent graduate from the University of Birmingham, I am currently working full time but looking for evening and weekend work. I am a bubbly and energetic person who has always loved working with young people. I was a Registered Carer employed by SCILL for a young male on the Autistic Spectrum for 4 years, which also involved caring for his two younger siblings and ensuring the three children were happy, engaged and active alongside maintaining their daily routines.
In addition to my paid work, I have also done a range of voluntary work with children. Since the age of 14 I have been passionate about working with young people, reflected in my 5 years as a young leader at Rainbows (Guiding Association) which involves organising arts and crafts and different activities for girls aged 5-7. During the holiday breaks from University I returned to Rainbows every week to help out.
During the summer of 2013 I did voluntary work at the week summer school, Whitgift Snap. I spent the week assisting a young boy on the Autistic Spectrum to do a range of fun activities including sports and different educational games. The role allowed me to build a bond with the young person and it was a great experience to see him flourish with the support.
I also have foundation level Macaton qualification, a form of sign language used to help young children and people with special needs communicate.
