Whilst working at Little Harriers I was able to complete my Level 3 Child Care apprenticeship. I worked with children aged 0-5 years old. This meant that I was able to perform varied tasks which were appropriate for the age group. This ranged from nappy changing, potty training, assisting with learning to feed and with the older children preparing them for school and their activities included learning to read, write and numbers. On a daily basis it was my responsibility to meet and greet the children and to settle and comfort them. I was involved in the planning of the daily activities and was responsible for setting them up and assisting the children with them throughout the day. My role also included preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner and assisting with meals. I also participated with the weekly outdoor learning experience which took place in the woods. This meant that I had to be particularly vigilant as health and safety continued to be a priority.
