I have experience over the last 4 years being a private nanny for a family with two children. When I started they were 6 months and 5 years. Across the last 4 years I have had sole charge of the children, kept in line with the children's routines, helped with homework, taken the children to groups and classes and helped both children to learn and develop. Some of my nannying duties include helping with weaning, toilet training, homework, light housework, bath times and bedtimes, preparing meals for the children, taking them to activities and travelling on holidays with the children. As the children have got older, my role has turned into a lot of housekeeping such as laundry, deep cleaning, making beds, hoovering, mopping and other household tasks. During my time nannying I have also traveled with the family multiple times. Over the past 10 years I have been babysitting for family friends in my spare time, looking after children ranging from newborns to teenagers. This involves a range of tasks including collecting the children from school, preparing meals and snacks for them, undertaking appropriate educational activities with them & supervising night-time routines.
