Hello, my name is Lucy G, I am 24 and have just finished an MA in contemporary theatre. Since 16 yrs I have worked childcare jobs. This started with babysitting and I have experience caring for children with learning difficulties. For 1.5 years from 17-18 I was an after-school nanny for 2 children who had various after school commitments and a large part of my role with them was taking them to different clubs across the city centre of Manchester. This meant that I gained experience entertaining and navigating children on public transport. When I was doing my undergrad from the age of 19-21 I was an after-school nanny with the agency KoruKids. I cared for a brother and sister aged 4 and 6. My main roles were picking them up from school, bathing them, cooking their evening meal and putting them to bed. Their school was over an hour away from their home so again I gained a lot of experience navigating young children on public transport through rush hour. They both had separate bed and bath times so I gained experience splitting my time and doing a lot of multitasking to make sure they were both safe and entertained when doing separate activities. Due to having so much childcare experience I find that my approach is very calm.
