I have 4 years of SEN experience while working as a teaching assistant in a Special Needs school. I have had daily contact with autistic children varying from reception age to Year 6. My training has been focused around special needs, while I have also had previous experience in a nursery during a college placement. Additionally, I spent 1 year as a teaching assistant in mainstream school and gained valuable experience delivering learning plans for Year 1 groups. My experience with new-borns stems from having children of my own whom I have nurtured and raised in my home. My young family have given me opportunities to learn how to identify individual needs and how to adapt to these. I therefore have a good understanding of children at different ages and milestones, as well making changes to suit needs at each stage.
