I currently work in Year 2, in a very large Primary School (an intake of 90 children per year). I have experience of working in EYFS and Year One, also. I assist the teacher in day-to-day activities, planning and interventions to aid the children’s learning and development. This involves working from IEP’s and EHCP’s to ensure the child’s needs are met. I have covered classes in staff absence, following lesson plans and delivering lessons to children. This could be from registering the children to delivering; Phonics, Guided Reading, English, Maths, Topic, PSHE, PE and Computing lessons. Confidentially is a key concept and I am fully aware of all policies and procedures involved in working in a childcare setting. I have up-to-date Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid training. I have experience of working with children from 0 years of age, through to 7 years. I am currently supporting a child with Autism and with Type 1 Diabetes. At set times throughout the day, I test the child’s blood sugar and administer insulin when required. I support the child at lunch times to ensure he has everything he needs, medically.
