I currently working as a nanny for a new born and 4 year old. Last year I graduated with a 2.1 BA Honours in Primary Education. I chose this course as I want to extend my knowledge and understanding of children within primary education. Since I was 15, I have been working with children and young people. I started by looking after family friend's children. This confirmed my choice of a career in teaching. My first course, at college, was a two year Level 3 course in Children and Young People Workforces. As part of this course, I completed a rewarding placement at a school. I found working with pupils with SEN particularly rewarding. In the second year placement at a school for deaf children, I developed my ability to communicate through sign language. Whilst completing the Level 3 course, I gained employment as a play worker. I worked with Reception to Year 6 pupils from a range of local schools providing before and after school provision. My first job as a Nursery Nurse within the children care sector was working with babies aged 6 months to 2 years. I was able to develop my skills by helping to run a discovery room for children age two.
