I’m currently at University so my schedule is fairly flexible. I’m someone who’s very interested in babysitting as I adore children and it’s a job well suited to me. I’ve spent the past two years often looking after my sister and cousins, also volunteering at a local primary school where I’d plan activities for kids mostly aged 5-9 and helped improve their skills like reading, listening & number work. It’s often said by class teachers or parents that I serve as an effective role model to the kids I'm around as they look up to me and I’m someone they can learn from/ trust. I think it’s extremely important that a child has a babysitter to care for them who can make them completely comfortable, providing a safe impression which i find is something that i can do very effectively. In terms of older children/teens, through volunteer work with my local ymca, I spent lots of time with young teens at drop ins where I’d create activities for them and was someone for them to chat to. Through this I gained more of an understanding of behaviours in children and teens, allowing me to provide better care. I’m patient and understanding with children and I just have the natural caring instinct. All of which I find vital in a good babysitter.
