I have previously volunteered at a dance school to take care of 4-6-year-olds, my experience gave me lots of insight on keeping children engaged, comforting them whilst being away from their parents and entertaining every little conversation that comes to their mind. I volunteer at my Church helping to create a safe space for 11-18-year-olds by encouraging them to talk about the ups and downs of life, my job is to offer advice and/or comfort when needed. I am patient and gentle, I understand that children of all ages need consistency to feel comfortable to express themselves. I do my research on what activities best help a child's development so that parents and children can see the progress they have made. Going on walks and being outdoors is crucial for all ages as it helps to improve mood and can be lots of fun. I listen and respect bedtimes, schedules and boundaries that parents have set and I am keen to follow them. I'm more than comfortable helping parents with cooking and light cleaning.
