Since leaving School I have been interested in developing a career in working with children. After school I went on to study at college in Health Sciences and did a 100 hour work placement in my local primary school. I did in fact continue attending this placement after the 100 hours were complete because I enjoyed it so much. This was basically a role as a voluntary teaching assistant and I did activities like reading with small groups of children, helping children change for P. E, taking part in art and craft activities and helping some of the young children when it came to toilet time. After completing my college course, I went on to University (I am currently in my second year). I study at Nottingham Trent University and do Early Years and Education Studies and will hopefully become a Primary School teacher after my degree. I have experience from my school placement and also from looking after my young cousin. Although I may not have years of experience like some people, I am passionate about working with children and the safeguarding of children and I think the fact I am doing a degree in the study of children is evidence of this.
