Hello! My name is Janna and I’m a young female professional with a bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Development and Anthropology. What inspires me most is how small acts of kindness and compassion can make a huge difference to people’s lives, and this is the attitude I wish to bring to my work. My motivation to take on a job with children comes from a place of appreciation for them and those who parent them. The best experience I’ve had as a babysitter was helping with reading homework, and you could almost hear their brains whirring as they followed each word. My experience with children stems from being an older sister, who started babysitting in her preteens. I learned how to cook, clean, and when I was old enough, manage the food shops and pick ups/drop offs. I was also a babysitter for my neighbour’s 3 children until I left for university. I have an appreciation for the early skills I picked up that have become ingrained in the form of proactive thinking and consideration for others. By day, I work as an administrator in the education sector to provide support to staff and students. My evenings are flexible and easily made available so that I can help support you with any childcare needs.
