I started my NC in early education and childcare. I also completed a years placement at Cairns nursery during this time where I started practically applying what I was learning during my NC course. Progressing on to doing my NC higher with Ayrshire college I started another placement with Lainshaw Lions in Stewarton. I have been there for a year and half .In addition to having my placement there, I also do extra hours where I assist the after school club for children aged 3-12. Throughout a normal day I go on walks and take lead on activities for the children to take part in. I often help the older children with their homework when they attend the after school club, after the children’s homework is completed we then enjoy spending time doing some arts and crafts, reading stories or some free play. I really enjoy all the work I do with the children and especially enjoy seeing how far each child progresses. Two days during the week and weekends I babysit for a parent that brings their child into Lainshaw Lions. I take the child home get them their dinner, play with them get the child bathed and put him to bed.
