Currently working as an after school nanny for two girls aged 9&10. I also have experience in babysitting children aged 2-15. This consists of a few hours during an evening/morning to a full weekend of care. This has included making dinner for the children, taking them out e.g, to the park and putting them to bed. During my education I acquired some experience from my practice placements including visiting children in their home and supporting them with particular tasks, for example; homework. I have also gained experience from volunteering at a youth centre working closely with people aged, 7-15, who have asperges and autism. This experience taught me how to overcome challenging situations with young people and the skills I developed from this have helped when babysitting because I can help a child overcome the initial anxious feeling of their parents leaving them for the day/night. From my babysitting experience I have looked after up to 4 children at one time, however from my practice placements I have work with families who have up to 6 children and from my voluntary work at the youth centre we had 25+ young people attend with 4 members of staff so I would be willing to babysit multiple children at a time.
