Ivy and Fred’s Childminders, located in Takeley, Bishop's Stortford, is owned and managed by Dawn Hardy and another staff member. The setting is named after Dawn’s grandparents and operates in a spacious five-bedroom house with a large garden and a stick area for outdoor exploration. Our focus is on child-led learning, incorporating elements of The Curiosity Approach to promote curiosity and wonder in Early Childhood. We believe in the importance of outdoor exploration for children's well-being and development, offering a unique environment that fosters confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Our children have the opportunity to engage in nature-based activities, attend 'Forest School' sessions, visit parks, and participate in various outdoor adventures. Parents are kept informed of their child's progress through individual Early Years Foundation Stage profiles and photo albums documenting their experiences with us. We provide daily activity diaries to keep parents updated on their child's day-to-day activities, ensuring a transparent and enriching childcare experience.
