I have a good selection of childcare experience mostly done through placements for the course I have studied. I did a 2 week work experience in a school, the jobs I was required to do for this was; to support the children to complete tasks set by the class teacher, to support children during play times, to help the teacher get the classroom organised for the children coming in and help tidy up when the children had gone home. I did a placement in a daycare for children aged 2-14. I supported some children at lunch times, I read stories to children, interacted with them through play, and I supported the children during activities like decorating butterfly's for displays. I am currently doing a placement on campus. I have been there since September of last year, some of the activities include; observing the children, recording information in the correct way, putting up displays, supporting children to complete tasks in numeracy and literacy, supporting in homework club, supporting the teacher to file children's work and to maintain confidentiality while doing this. I have taken small groups out to do baking activities and to decorate biscuits.
