I am a student at UCLan University studying BSc in Mental Health and Wellbeing. I have 3 brothers aged 7, 14 & 17 and 5 younger cousin under the age of 7 who I regularly look after. My experience with kids goes back to high school. Since I first started my work experience I started it at a primary school near my home, I worked as a teaching assistant (voluntary) at the age of 15. I then went on to college and did another 4 months work experience at Thornton college, this then lead me to University where I volunteered for 1 year and worked for another year at an alternative provider school called Peregrinate. All three of these experiences have taught me a lot about working with children and young people. I am enthusiastic, kind and have a great work ethic. I do not smoke or drink and I love to travel. When I spend time looking after my cousins, I will always find a way to keep them busy. Whether that is at the park, swimming, teaching them the basics of maths, English, science and life skills or whether it’s just sitting down and drawing. I can bring this experience to many places and make sure each child I care for is looked after in the correct way. I have a Safeguarding Certificate and foundation degree in Mental Health.
