I am a second-year BSc Psychology student at the University of Southampton offering a babysitting service in the local area. I have worked as a babysitter since the age of fourteen and have built up a strong client base in my hometown of Basingstoke, and I am looking to extend this to the Southampton area. During this time, I have looked after children as young as three weeks and those as old as thirteen years. I have been presented with and successfully handled a variety of circumstances such as unpleasant stomach bugs and upsetting emotions associated with parental military deployment. For longer shifts, particularly over the summer holidays, I enjoy taking children out for activities such as bowling or cinema trips. I worked as a Young Leader at a local Brownies organisation for several years and during this time I developed a valuable insight into the types of activities children find engaging, and I also built a strong relationship with each child based on trust.
