Through my experience, I have realised that working with children/ young people is what I want to focus on in my career. I feel very fulfilled and privileged to be part of a child's development and build good relationships with the children and people I work with. I am a warm and kind person with a sense of fun and enjoy caring for others which is why I am a good candidate to work with children. I was a nanny for two years (2010-2012) whilst at university. I looked after three adolescent children, two girls and a boy and their ages were twelve, thirteen and fourteen. I picked up the youngest child from school. Once back at the house, I played with the youngest child and helped her with homework and revision. When the two older children arrived home and I arranged activities for all of the children and also helped them with revision and homework. As the children were older they were more independent, so often they organised their own activities and I simply joined in with them. I cooked the children’s evening meal. When necessary, I gave feedback to parents about any issues the children had at school for example.
