I am currently a School Support Assistant at a special needs school. This involves: - Providing learning support for pupils in class or in 1:1 situations. - Developing knowledge of the particular needs of the children. - Creating exciting and appealing display boards. - Maintaining an inclusive learning environment. - Providing positive reinforcements, praise and rewards to pupils. - Attending training days to to keep up to date with developments in working with children with special educational needs. Previous to this role I was a nanny to 2 girls ages 5 and 9. This involved: - Advocating home schooling activities, making the tasks exciting. - Coming up with fun trips for days out. - Playing creative games. - Encouraging arts and crafts and cooking. - Cooking nutritional meals throughout the day. Whilst I attended college I volunteered in a local primary school. This involved: Helping out in the Year 2 classroom. - Bringing FairyTales to life dressing up as Sleeping Beauty for a themed week. - Supporting children's learning within lessons. Being a helping hand in the Year 1 and 2 school play. - Structuring scenes together and teaching the art of comedy within drama as well as song and dance.
