I have 11 years of experience working with children and young people ranging from 6 months to 18 years old. I have been able to work in family homes, nurseries and a residential home. I have looked after both mainstream children and those with physical disabilities, mental health problems, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. I enjoy working alongside families, teams and am confident lone working. I love cooking, being outdoors, messy play, imaginative play and supporting with a wide range of hobbies and activities. I’m a confident swimmer having swam for my school while living in Kenya, I enjoy anything animal related and used to ride competitively in Kenya and while living in Canada so would be happy to support similar interests. I have a good level of education and can support with homework and learning (mostly!) having worked in a school and home for young people with disabilities and in nurseries I am able to plan fun and educational activities to meet the age, stage, needs and interests of the children I am looking after. I have a current paediatric first aid certificate. I have a full, valid driving licence and my own car with business insurance. I am happy to get a new DBS at the start of a new role.
