Having worked with young children for over 17 years (0-8y) I have come to understand that my enthusiasm is directly linked to my "fun-loving", bubbly personality. My studies (BA Honours) in Early Childhood reinforced an appreciation I long held for play and deepened my understanding of play's significance in young children's learning and healthy development. Being someone who believes in the importance of trusting and respectful relationships, I always aim to be fair and to listen actively. I maintain an attentive and sensitive attitude to the needs of children, their parents and other people my profession brings me in contact with.
I see my nanny role as manifold and I have extensive experience of the aspects this role entails. I am first and foremost a carer for the children, meeting their essential needs, whilst keeping them safe at all times. I am a role model and also an educator, opening up new possibilities for exploration and new activities that keep children motivated. As much as I am a carer and an educator, I am also a friend, a true play-partner, who genuinely enjoys participating in play activities, whatever form play comes in. Keeping children happy, and helping them become confident learners is what I thrive to do.

Betty came to us when our little one was struggling a lot after a bad experience with nursery. They became immediate friends. Our son came on so wonderfully with Betty with his confidence, social skills and independence. Betty is a very safe pair of hands and passionate about what she does. It’s a real vocation for her and she excels at it. Our son just mentioned her this morning saying he misses his friend Betty. I think that says it all!
