I am a child care practitioner also a trainee primary school teacher. I am currently a nursery nurse in a private nursery (bright horizons). I have had many experiences in a variety of educational settings including nurseries, primary schools and have also done nannying for a year. I have had many duties, roles and responsibilities in the child care sector. I engage well with families and created a secure base which promoted me to baby sit some of the children from the nursery outside work. Due to the nature of my studies and past experiences I am very confident and willing to work with children and also have the ability to cater for each child’s individual needs. In addition, I strongly believe practitioners that work with children must have professional characteristics such as; good communication skills, organisation skills and also have the ability to understand the child and be caring, loving, kind also enthusiastic. As a child practitioner I also believe that it is vital for practitioners to engage with children through play to develop their learning and understanding. I am confident that spending time with children creates a positive, stimulating and fun environment.
