I have excellent childcare skills and experience, I am currently employed as a child support worker at a before and after school provision. My roles included are leading and supervising groups of different ages. I am often their first point of contact upon arriving at school in the morning, children need reassurance and a friendly face to help them settle into the environment and look forward to the day ahead. I am expected to organise and deliver engaging activities, this may be playing games, setting out creative activities or one to one reading. I also provide breakfast, snacks and refreshments at regular intervals before and after their school day. To work with young children you need to be able to communicate well not only with the but also with parents and carers to understand the child and their needs fully. I also have experience with children who have special needs, and worked as an assistant dance teacher at my dance school for 5 years. All of the above experiences have lead me to a desired career in teaching, and will be attending university in a deferred placement in 2021.
