I have always been involved with special needs children from the age of 3.
I have worked in several special needs play schemes during the summer holidays, helping a vast range of pupils with all different kinds of disabilities and medical needs.
I have worked as a carer for disabled young adults. This has involved assisting with their personal care, physical management programmes, social activities and any other activities they have directed me to do.
I have also worked as a Learning Support Assistant at a school. This involved care for students, exercise programmes, updating communication books, programming and updating pupil’s communication aids, accompanying pupils on school trips. I also worked with the PE department helping out with both in and out of school. I also carried outstanding programmes and general work in the classrooms as and when needed.
I have taught a special needs swimming squad and taken mainstream swimming lessons for 5 years.
I am an enthusiastic and self motivated person. I am competent, adaptable and able to learn new skills easily. I am honest and a loyal team member who is dependable and always reliable.
