September 2016-May 2016 and September 2014-April 2015 I assisted at two preparatory schools with all aspects of teaching and looking after a class of 4-5 year olds. I was responsible for supervising the children and ensuring that they were kept busy and quiet at all times and I worked on a one-to-one basis with them to help improve their spelling and writing. I was required to be patient at all times and to listen to the children as well as being creative and enthusiastic. I thrived off of being inventive and fun but also assertive as I was working with children in after-school clubs. I was responsible for coming up with exciting activities for them which required both creativity and strong organisational skills. I offered support to those children who were struggling and I supervised them when the teacher was absent. As the youngest of four siblings I have always had babysitters and I know what works and what doesn't. There exists a fine line between being their friend and making sure they feel comfortable and safe with you but also never losing the respect and responsibility pertinent to the job. Most of all, it's important to have fun with the children so I love to inject learning games for example when I'm with them.
