Childcare in Worcester

| I'm a retired music agent, a mother of 2 and grandmother of 5. I brought up both of my children alone. My youngest grandchild is 11 yrs and she is home educated. I have plenty of time on my hands now and would love to spend some of it using my lifetime experiences, and passing some of this on to young people. My daughter is physically disabled and my son is mixed race, which gives me personal insight into some of the problems and discrimination facing many young people today. I'm a compassionate, intelligent, kind, reliable and trustworthy person who wants to be useful in society. I've spent much time with my home-educated granddaughter and have taught her how to sew and knit, gone cycling with her regularly and taught her basic grammar and spelling. I also have a 15 year old grandson who has autism and have spent a lot of time with him through the years. Having brought up both of my children single-handedly and helped out with childcare with all 5 grandchildren, whose ages range from 11 to 27, I feel I have enough experience to be an excellent babysitter.

| As well as having three children of my own aged 11, 13 and 19, I have worked in Preschool for 5+ years and as an Ofsted registered childminder. I have a Level 3 Early Years Qualification, First aid Certificate, DBS, Food Hygiene, Autism Awareness and many other CPD certificates. I worked in a day nursery for 5 years and then worked as a nanny for three families. I have spent the last 2 years working in Elderly Care but would like to return to childcare. | I am a kind and nurturing individual who has always had an interest in caring for children. I am experienced in caring for children up to 11 years and have a qualification in children’s play, learning and development. Part of this qualification was to attend 800 hours of placement experience which has provided me with skills and knowledge of children aged 0 - 11 years. I have also got experience in working with children who have additional needs. I feel that I would be a great childcare provider to any family and would consider the needs of the children to provide them with the care that they deserve.

| I have not had much experience baby/child sitting except family friends, but I have volunteered with children for up to 8 years. Most recently I volunteer at rainbows and a Sunday school, in which I am DBS checked. Given the responsibility of childcare I will follow the instructions and most importantly keep the child safe from harm. I understand all children are different for needs and personality and can adapt to suit. I can clean and cook meals, I also am one for sport and can swim. Having helped a couple of people to me I have a concept of their education. The only constraints are the times of my exams and lectures and i do not have a car with me at uni so I can walk or get some buses. I also know first aid if required.

| I have worked for 8 years in childcare, starting off in a private day nursery where I worked my way up to Deputy Manager, I’ve worked abroad as a children's club nanny and Deputy Manager, now I am a Manager at a private day nursery. I've also done private nannying. I am qualified and have references and DBS up to date.

I’m currently looking into an apprenticeship for Level 3 TA and to complete a Paediatric First aid to further my childcare journey. I have an interest in art and in media such as animation and video games, I also have cleaning experience from previous work.
