| currently I haven't had an official job working with kids however my experience comes from I have grown up with children my whole life, in particular my mum is a foster carer where within my household there has always been young children ranging from babies at birth to 7 years old. More recently I have become my mum's support worker, this means my mum can leave the child/ children with me whilst she goes out for a few hours or when she goes on holiday and the children don't have to leave their home and live with another stranger. My mum used this to her advantage early this year whilst she went on holiday for two weeks whilst i took holidays off from my current job role and looked after the kids. The children I looked after were 4 months old, 2 years old and 3 years old. The time that i looked after the children was the most rewarding time I have had in my life and this made me realise that a job working with children was exactly what i wanted to do with my life. I am young but I see it as an advantage for families. I can be more understanding for the children but mature enough to work along with the parents.
