Childminders in Cyncoed

| Hi! My name is Sophie and I live in Lakeside with my husband and daughter. I have worked in primary education in both Cardiff and London for fifteen years as a teacher, as a deputy headteacher and then qualifying as a headteacher. The arrival of my own daughter led me to learn more about early childhood development and subsequently retrain as a childminder. I am passionate about early development and children’s education but as a mother myself I fully understand the importance of fun, laughter and love - I offer parents the high quality learning of a nursery standard but in the nurturing environment of a home setting. I follow the 0 - 3 curriculum and EYFS framework along with sensory activities, music, cultural exploration, stories and outside play. I am trained in makaton, phonics and forest schools and I am a close five minutes walk from the park and library which will be wonderful learning stimulation for the children. I am happy to share planning with parents and keep you informed of your child’s development with a learning journal. I provide morning drop off and pick up from local primary schools - Lakeside Primary School and Rhydypennau Primary School.
