I am a passionate child carer who strives to be kind compassionate and fun

I have always had a passion for working with children. When I finished my GCSES, I started off doing some babysitting for my youngest cousin who was a baby at the time, on and off and loved it. This involved mostly play. I did some babysitting a family friend a few times for a little girl who was 5/6 years old. I was also responsible for the bedtime routine! After sixth form I applied to work in a breakfast club but they took me on as a 1:1 teaching assistant for a partially sighted child with SEND needs. I did breakfast and afterschool club alongside this. This lead me on to covering lessons during the teachers planning time which I really enjoyed! I would cover classes across the whole school and had some great experiences! This involved responsibilities such as planning, teaching, playing, helping at mealtimes. I did some tutoring here.
Now I am working in a different primary school, as a therapeutic support assistant, with children with SEND requirements such as trauma and adverse childhood experiences. In this role I am responsible for keeping them safe, helping with their learning. I absolutely adore this role, but as I come to the end of my degree, I am looking for a new experience!
